Master na akademiji umjetnosti u Becu?

Critical studies su zaista za preporuciti!

Call for applications for Master of Arts' programme in Critical Studies
Application period: July 10–September 2, 2011

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is offering a new Master of Arts' programme in Critical Studies. It is an artistic-academic course of study that lasts four semesters with an artistic-academic project being developed in the final semester. The course is completed with a Master of Arts’ (MA) degree.

The programme is aimed at students who either possess a diploma or B.A. in an academic subject or those who have achieved a corresponding qualification in an artistic subject.

The programme pursues three teaching objectives. It is intended to prepare students for academic doctoral studies, primarily in art theory and cultural studies but also in the disciplines of education in the arts and in architecture. It is intended to equip students to continue artistic research towards a Ph.D. in practice or a comparable qualification. It is intended to prepare students for activities in public artistic and cultural fields of practice, especially for work in journalism, specialised and academic journalism as well as for curatorial, archival, mediational and other such activities.

The programme has artistic, theoretical, propaedeutically preparatory, practical and such parts in which forms of practice are purposefully intermingled and their clear demarcation called into question.

The programme comprises of five modules. Students must enroll for one course unit from each of these modules during each of the first three semesters. In the first module students individually join one class at the Institute for Fine Art and participate to a limited extent in the artistic tuition. In the second module students develop artistic-academic approaches in a study project with various teaching staff. In the third module students select seminars from the Institute for Art Theory and Cultural Studies. In the fourth module students attend a practice-oriented seminar held by an external specialist. In the fifth module students are inducted into methodologies of academic work. In the fourth semester students develop their master’s project.

The Master’s programme in Critical Studies follows the critical traditions of the 20th century (from the Frankfurt School and the psychoanalysis to the New Left, Post-structuralism and Deconstruction), expanded by those developments, ramifications and problematisations of critical standpoints inspired in recent decades by fields such as Gender Studies, Postcolonial Studies, Subaltern Studies, Cultural Studies and Queer Studies. In addition, approaches developed in relation to new theories of the visual, medialities, the public and the social will be treated—consistently in relation to artistic processes.

Students will work in small teams and groups of rarely more than ten. They will be tutored by lecturers from a large pool from almost all the institutes at the academy. There will be a constant change in lecturing staff to ensure a variety of perspectives and expertise. Nevertheless, continuity in staff will also be guaranteed.

The teaching staff in the first year of study will include:

Sabeth Buchmann, Diedrich Diederichsen, Marina Grzinic, Jens Kastner, Jakob Krameritsch, Dorit Margreiter, Constanze Ruhm, Johanna Schaffer, Ruth Sonderegger, Felicitas Thun-Hohenstein

2011 Call for applications for PhD in Practice Program

Application period: January 31 – March 18, 2011
Beginning of studies for new participants: October 1, 2011

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is offering a doctoral program for research in and as artistic practice. The PhD in Practice is intended to give participants an opportunity to realize their individual art and research projects in a cooperative environment with a decidedly trans-disciplinary and international bent.

In societies increasingly based on economies of "knowledge", it is crucial for contemporary visual artists to discuss and transform their own respective positions as producers, agents, designers, archivists, and conveyors of those economies, and the politics, aesthetics and affects related to them. The program critically focuses on the consequences of the shifting social role of art and artists by allowing artists in knowledge-based societies to engage in research into these issues. A deliberate emphasis on the epistemological and methodological foundations and prospects of the fine arts, its practitioners, and its audiences is a distinguishing feature of the PhD in Practice program, as is a particular interest in addressing the question of how art practices are and can be related to important issues of contemporary politics and culture.

The PhD in Practice program is designed for a four year duration (240 ECTS credits). Participants should be prepared to take part in seminars and communal meetings in Vienna for at least one week per month during the semester. Over the course of the four years the participants will develop and implement their projects analytically and experimentally in coordination with the academic and artistic team of co-participants and faculty. Trans-disciplinary modes of art production and research are fostered. An annual thematic research focus provides a common platform of discussion and organization. Importantly, the ability to write academic texts, and to conceive, organize, document, and carry out independent research will be developed by supporting participants in a networked, international and trans-disciplinary environment (The Center for Art/Knowledge/CAK).

The PhD in Practice participants have access to the facilities and resources of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and to the institutions and people that form the broader and expanding network of the Center for Art/Knowledge and the future Doctoral School of the Academy. Participants will be given the means to pursue and develop dissertation work resulting in an artistic project and a written component displaying a strong emphasis on methodological reflexivity and documentation. Moreover, participants are expected to take an active part in organizing the program (coordinating workshops, guest lectures, conferences, exhibitions, screenings, etc.).

Entry requirements

Requirements for admission to the PhD in Practice program are: a degree (Magister, MA or diploma) from a recognized University or Academy, and the submission of a portfolio and a written project proposal. Applicants who are already engaged in an artistic or academic career are encouraged to apply.

The application is online only. Applications (to be written in English) must be received by March 18, 2011, following the online application procedure explained on the website of the program (http://www.cak.akbild.ac.at), and should be sent to: phd-in-practice[at]akbild.ac.at

Further information can be found at http://www.cak.akbild.ac.at

The results of the application process will be published by mid-May 2011.

Admitted candidates will embark on the PhD in Practice program in October 2011.

Yugo-Brot

"Siri spektrum musterija" kaze prodavac. A meni i smjesno i tuzno.

Nije.

To vam svima zelim.

Na nesto me sjeca taj grad

Na nešto me sjeća taj grad
Tri kuće na trgu i zastave
Zvuk neba je topal i jak
A ljudi su sjeli pod hrastove

Budi mi se stara čežnja
Budi mi se stara čežnja

Tu je bio njen visoki prozor
Da ga ne gledam
Da ga ne gledam
Svoj strmi hod kroz sjene
Birao sam sâm
A danas ugovor ističe

Budi mi se stara čežnja
Budi mi se stara čežnja

Na nešto me sjeća taj grad
Tri kuće na trgu i zastave
Zvuk neba je topal i jak
A ljudi su sjeli pod hrastove

Budi mi se stara čežnja
Budi mi se stara čežnja

Reci im barem da ostave vrata
Dugo smo skupa i skoro smo braća
Da vidim zeleno i da vidim plavo
Dok nosi me đavo
Oprosti, vrijeme je varavo

I budi mi se stara čežnja

Za sve roditelje

Nemojte me razmaziti.

Nemojte me ispravljati pred drugima.

Nemojte me štititi od posljedica.
Moram učiti na iskustvu.

Ne obraćajte previše pažnje kad sam lakše bolestan. Mogao bih početi uživati u lošem zdravlju, ako mi to bude donosilo veliku pažnju.

Ne odbijajte me kad tražim odgovore na normalna pitanja. Ako me odbijete, vidjet ćete da ću prestati ispitivati a informacije tražiti negdje drugdje.

Nemojte zaboraviti da ne mogu odrasti bez mnogo razumijevanja i podrške;

I pored svega, mnogo vas volim, volite i vi mene...
